no it's not bill kaulitz (another mix tape)

I'm kind of ashamed to say this, but Andrej Pejic completely reminds me of Bill Kaulitz. And not just because they're both unbelievably androgynous. They share mannerisms in the way they speak and act in interviews (not that I spend my life on youtube thanks vair much).

I wish I could sit down and have a conversation with Andrej. Maybe at a bookstore or Starbucks or some other innocuous place. He is just a fascinating creature. So in light of my recent discovery of androgyny-themed songs by Garbage, I made this mix tape:

Please go on over here and listen to Cherry Lips. If you pay attention to the lyrics, it's as if it was written specially for Andrej.
And look how awesome and artsy I am! I drew the cover based off this Andrej editorial in Oyster Magazine!

I cut out the roses (from this photo of Andrej) and pasted them onto my drawing. And in case you're wondering, the bottom corner reads "boys' room."

And on a separate but still model-related note:

???
That's what came up when I was searching for Ethan's Ey! Magateen interview (which I still haven't found by the way). So if anyone owns a readable copy of the interview, do send it over.

Teen Dreams/Fluorescent Adolescent

As promised, I got around to making the cover collage for a playlist I compiled about a month ago.

And here are the songs:

I was thinking about FMH's Andrej Pejic ranking (they finally issued an apology), which got me into an Andrej mode, so I spent like half an hour of my life watching his interviews on Youtube. And THEN I found his Twitter. It's actually  one of the most entertaining things I've had the pleasure of reading:

what a social butterfly

the baby or whatever that's hanging on your wall is pretty.
I am so glad Andrej exists.

Andrej Pejic voted 98th sexiest WOMAN in the world

Male model Andrej Pejic has been changing traditions and making waves in the fashion industry since he began modeling women's clothing. Pejic has been voted the 98th sexiest woman in the world by FHM magazine readers. However some readers are unhappy with this 'Designers are hailing him as the next big thing. We think 'thing' is quite accurate. More troubling is the fact that Andrej is not the only one when it comes to supermodels that are not all they seem'.  These comments have sparked outrage and FHM promptly removed the entry from its website. A spokesperson for FHM said 'Andrej Pejic appears at number 98 in FHM's sexiest 100 women of the world. Regrettably the copy accompanying Andrej's online entry wasn't subbed prior to going live. Once we realised, we removed it immediately. FHM has spoken to the individual concerned and has taken steps to ensure it never happens again'. Pejic was discovered while working in McDonals and is happy to model women's clothing 'Sometimes I feel like more of a woman, other times I feel like a male'. The fashion industry is constantly changing and developing. Could Andrej be the next Kate Moss?

Andrej is the 98th Sexiest Woman in the World, et. al

FMH released its ever-important list of "100 Sexiest Women," and one of the magazine's awesomely manly and intelligent writers made a little oopsie: he crowned Andrej Pejic, a male model, 98th Sexiest Woman in the World. And then, this dumb writer tried to compensate for his mistake by making snarky comments about Andrej's looks. He was probably just mad Andrej is like, 1,000,000 times prettier than his girlfriend, or "escort," or whatever he probably has. (I am just too clever!) Here is an excerpt from FMH's article on Andrej:

Although his sexual identity is ambiguous, designers are hailing him as the next big thing. We think ‘thing’ is quite accurate. Tall, skinny, and flat-chested, Andrej is considered in couture circles as the “perfect coat-hanger” for high fashion garments, moving the industry on from hot girls who look dangerously boyish to just boys who look like girls. Having managed to get away with it in campaigns for Marc Jacobs and Jean Paul Gaultier, the blonde gender-bender has jumped the gun in hoping he might one day be signed as a Victoria’s Secret Model (Pass the sick bucket). Well, he might have a hard time keeping it a secret then.

And here is what New York Magazine said in response:

Right, pass the sick bucket because no matter what they say, they are still endorsing Pejic as the 98th sexiest "woman" of the year. So he is sexier, by FHM standards, than number 100 on the list,Izabel Goulart, who is a Victoria's Secret model. If we were to guess what may have happened in the writing of this story, knowing what little we do about straight males who make a living at a magazine that helps other straight men assert their masculinity, is some straight male who writes for FHM saw photos of Pejic, mistook him for a woman, found out he was actually a man, and wrote this snide article to show his fellow bros at the magazine how blatantly not attracted he is to androgynous dudes, despite actually thinking one is hot. Then, maybe, he went out, had a Miller Lite at Hooters, and told his work buddies the next day he spent the night blowing lines off of strippers that totally wanted to have unprotected sex with him.

aaaamen.

haters 'gon hate. we luv u andrej! xoxoxox

I'm pretty sure these are the steps I saw Matt Hitt on, except I'm probably making that up in my mind since there are what, like ten million stoops in the City?
Look at them being all model-like with their portfolios.

I Use Martha Stewart Craft Products + Pastel Hair for Easter

I was making a card for my parents' anniversary and excessive glitter-use ensued. Because that is what happens when you do arts and crafts.

it's Martha Stewart got an issue get a tissue

It was really nice outside today but now it's raining with lightening/thunder. I took these nice-weather-photos few days ago so maybe posting them will help the rain stop. I bought this little black and red polka dot raincoat today at H&M — really, it's for the "experiential education" excursion I have to go on this Thursday to Saturday. It is going to be awful. Y'all say a bad attitude will make it worse but I think the inevitable major suckage of this trip will render my attitude a very marginal factor in the overall suckiness.

Anyway, here are the photos.

Also, today was easter so let's all admire Audrey Kitching's pastel hair and pastel hair in general:
