All’s well that ends well.
After their public misunderstanding months ago, Sarah Geronimo and Cristine Reyes on Sunday finally kissed and made up.
In her live interview on “The Buzz,” Geronimo said she was the first one to approach the sultry actress at the backstage of musical variety show “ASAP Rocks.”
“Matagal na matagal ko na siyang gustong makausap. Pagkatapos ng lahat ng gulo, gusto ko na talagang mag-sorry sa kanya,” she said.
She said she wanted to apologize not just to end the controversy but more so because she knew that Reyes, like her, also got hurt because of the issue.
This was how Geronimo narrated their reconciliation:
“Kasi nagmamadali [kami]. Naiwan ng make-up artist na si Len ‘yong eyeliner doon sa dressing room ko. Tapos si mommy meron din siyang kinuha. Lumabas siya so sabi ko, ‘Hmmmm, nandiyan si Cristine. Puntahan ko na.’
‘Kinuha ko ang eyeliner. Sabi ko, ‘Manang, samahan mo ako. Isu-soli ko lang ito.’ Sakto palabas si Cristine, so nagkatinginan kami…. Parang umiwas pa siya,” she said.
The lead star of upcoming romantic-comedy film, “Catch Me… I’m In Love,” said she embraced Reyes tightly and apologized to her for any misunderstanding.
“Sabi ko, ‘Cristine.’ Nagulat siya. Siyempre may takot din ako na [kung] tatanggapin kaya niya o masasaktan kaya ako? Ano kaya ang mangyayari? Niyakap ko na lang siya. Hindi ko na lang siya pinakawalan. Sabi ko, ‘Cristine wala akong intensyon [na saktan ka],’” she said.
According to Geronimo, Reyes turned teary-eyed and also apologized to her. The pop star princess also disclosed that Reyes said sorry to her mom.
“And I also told her na, ‘Cristine, naiintindihan kita. In-love ka eh.’ Sabi ko, ‘Nangyari din sa akin yan noon.’ (Laughs)…. Napangiti siya,” she said.
Geronimo, Reyes, and actor-dancer Rayver Cruz,got involved in a love triangle. Prior to Reyes and Cruz’s relationship, Geronimo admitted that she had a relationship with the actor-dancer.
In December of last year, Reyes blew her top over a snide remark that was allegedly made behind her back by Geronimo. What caught her ire was when Geronimo said during rehearsals for “ASAP” that a sexy woman would also chase a guy who is a good dancer.
Reyes took to the microblogging website Twitter to vent her anger against the pop star princess.
On Sunday, Geronimo once again clarified her statement.
She said: “Kaya ko nilapitan si Rayver noon dahil gusto kong makipagbati, gusto kong ipakita sa mga kasamahan ko na wala na…. wala akong intensyon para makapag-flirt sa kanya."
“’Yong biro ko sa stage na ‘yon, during rehearsals, sini-set ko lang mood, ‘yong joke ko na ‘yon for John [Prats] din ‘yon at Rayver. Kasi totoo naman ‘yon na ‘yong magagaling sumayaw lapitin talaga ng mga magaganda at seksing babae. Si Rachelle (Ann Go, Prats’ girlfriend) sexy; si Cristine, sexy, maganda. Wala akong ibang ibig sabihin doon at ‘yon ang gustong gusto kong ipaliwanag kay Cristine,” she added.
