Angeline Quinto denies using Sarah to boost popularity

Star Power grand winner Angeline Quinto has belied reports which say she's just using Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo to boost her popularity.

In an interview on ABS-CBN's "The Buzz" on Sunday, Quinto stressed that she will never use anyone to get her dreams.

"Hala, hindi naman ako sikat, hindi pa. Hindi ko naman po ginagamit si Sarah. Siyempre ginagawa ko naman ang lahat ng magagawa ko para makilala ng tao," Quinto said.

"Hindi po talaga totoo 'yan at saka hindi naman ako nanggagamit ng kahit sino," she added.

Quinto even shared said that she and Geronimo go along very well.

"Sobrang ok po kami ni Sarah talaga. Kung tutuusin nga po, halos inaabot kami ng pagte-text ni Sarah ng madaling araw. At saka nagkasama po kami sa Star for A Night," she said.

Quinto and Geronimo are both performers of "ASAP Rocks."

Quinto is currently preparing for her first major solo concert that will be held at SM Skydome on July 15.

She will also go abroad on June 23 to be part of Sharon Cuneta's US tour.

Angeline Quinto records own version of DZMM jingle, 'Mahiwaga'

Star Power grand winner Angeline Quinto is the newest voice of DZMM Radyo Patrol Sais Trenta's jingle for the year.

In an interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com, Quinto said that she's really honored to record the jingle of the country's leading AM station.

"Opo talagang nagulat din po ako nang malaman kong kami ni kuya Eric ang kakanta ng jingle ng DZMM,"

Quinto sang the jingle alongside balladeer Eric Santos. The two were accompanied by Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra and UP Concert Chorus.

"Sobrang pasasalamat po talaga ako sa kanila, kasi ang DZMM ay kinalikahan ko na yan. Kaya sabi ko sana ay mas marami pa kayong mapaglingkuran na mga kababayan natin," she said.

The "ASAP Rocks" performer also said she feels like she was reporting news while recording the station's theme song, which will be aired on June 12.

Meanwhile, Quinto also shared her excitement with her version of hit song "Mahiwaga."

"Mahiwaga," originally written by Don Manolo Villar, is the theme song of ABS-CBN's hit series "100 Days to Heaven." It was originally recorded by Marian devotee Fatima Soriano.

Quinto is set to have her first major concert this July.

Angeline Quinto tops Astrovision's best-selling albums

"Star Power" grand winner Angeline Quinto has outshined 9 other artists when her debut album clinched the number one spot in the best-selling list of a record store.

Just weeks after it was released, Quinto's 14-track self-titled album became Astrovision's best-selling album for the first quarter of 2011.

In an interview with "Showbiz News Ngayon", an elated Quinto expressed her gratitude for those who have supported her feat.

"Nabalitaan ko nga po na naging number one 'yung album, 'di ba. Sobrang thank you po. Sobrang maraming maraming salamat sa inyong lahat," she said.

"Kung anuman po 'yung ipinapakita niyo sa 'king suporta, talagang nakakataba ng puso 'yun kaya mas lalo ko pa pong pinagbubuti 'yung trabaho ko," she said.

Quinto also thanked God for the outpouring of blessings she has received.

"Nagpapasalamat ako sa Panginoon talaga. Wala naman po kasi lahat ng ito kung 'di dahil sa kanya," said Quinto.

Angeline Quinto Talks About Her Next Projects

“Star Power” grand winner Angeline Quinto is on the fast track to fame.

The reality singing star already has a music album and music video a month after winning “Star Power.”

Quinto has also been invited by no less than Megastar Sharon Cuneta to her concert tour in the United States. She is also set to perform in a concert in the United Kingdom.

The rising star, who’s never been out of the country, admitted that it is her dream to travel abroad. She also shared a funny experience when she first rode in a plane to Iloilo. She said she thought she had a jetlag when she became dizzy during a turbulent flight.

Despite her popularity, Quinto assured that she is keeping her feet on the ground.

Now that she is famous, the singer, who was brought up by her grandmother, disclosed that many are now claiming to be her biological mother.

Quinto has never denied that she wants to meet her real mom and ask her why she abandoned her.

Quinto now lives in a rented condominium with her grandmother. Her grandmother is now getting the best treatment for her heart ailment.

Some of her prize money is in the bank, while some was used to pay debts.

Quinto said she wants to be an inspiration to those trying to live their dreams.
