Kim Chiu lost her passport to suspected thieves while waiting for her flight at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) last Saturday.

In an interview with The Buzz, Chiu said she was at NAIA waiting for her flight to the US for the Star Magic US tour when she found out that her passport was missing.

Chiu believes thieves who pretended to be her fans, who took pictures of and with her, were the culprits.

Chiu said that she and her company asked the management of NAIA to help them find her stolen passport.

Si Ate Kris. tinulungan ako," she said.

The actress believes her wallet-type passport holder was the reason why the suspected thieves stole it, believing it contained money.

"We deployed, we alerted police, then we gave instructions sa mga janitor na baka naitapon, may kumuha at itinapon dahil walang laman. At positive naman na walang laman, dahil travel document lang ni Miss Kim," said Alvin Candelaria, OIC- Airport Operations Department of NAIA.

After hours searching for the passport, NAIA janitor Melchor Fojas found Chiu's passport.

Before boarding the plane, Chiu extended her appreciation to NAIA authorities.

"Ang saya ko, after 2 hours na paghihintay at page-page, ito na," she said.

Airport authorities reminded passengers to be watchful.

"Huwag silang complacent. Sa hirap ng buhay, may nagpapanggap at professional, and they take their chance kung may opportunity. At ang mga dokumento, dapat laging hawak," Candelaria said.

Actress Kim Chiu shared her excitement about her latest television series "Binondo Girl."

Siyempre hindi ko babaliwalin ang binigay nila sa akin," Chiu said during a press conference about her newest show.

Chiu said her role in "Binondo Girl" is more challenging than her previous projects.

"Isa siyang challenging role for me. More on for family tapos may konting love. Challenging pero exciting," she said.

In the series, Chiu will have three leading men -- Xian Lim, Matteo Guidicelli and Jolo Revilla.

"Nakaka-excite, first time ko silang maka-trabaho. Sobrang excited," she said.

"Binondo Girl" will also star Glydel Mercado, Cherry Pie Picache and Ai Ai delas Alas.

According to Chiu, the series is really close to her heart since it will showcase the life of a Chinese family.

She divulged she will be speaking Chinese in some scenes of the series.

Without Gerald

Another challenge for Chiu is the fact that she won't be with her long-time on-screen partner and rumored ex-boyfriend Gerald Anderson.

Ngayon, kakaibang series itong Binondo Girl," the actress said.

Chiu vowed she will give her best in the series, even without Anderson.

"Basta ako masaya ako sa binigay na proyekto sa akin at sisiguraduhin ko na mamahalin ang trabaho ko," she said.

When asked about reports that Anderson will have a cameo role in "Binondo Girl," Chiu replied: "Hindi ko po alam, wala pa pong sinasabi."

“Si Renz naman okay naman siyang katrabaho. Kahit first time niya ang pag-acting sa ‘Your Song.’ Siyempre daddy niya si Rudy Fernandez, Lorna Tolentino mommy niya,” she said.

Asked if she is willing to entertain Fernandez once he decides to pursue and woo her, Chiu said: “Naku huwag muna. Friends muna kami.

The young actress also gave an update about her friendship with De La Salle University basketball player Simon Atkins, who previously tweeted that he wants to meet the former Pinoy Big Brother housemate.

Kim Chiu is Proud to Finish High School

Drama princess Kim Chiu did not hide her emotions when she delivered a speech in front of her high school batchmates during their graduation day on Thursday.

Chiu was among the thousands of students who was granted a high school diploma because she passed the Department of Education’s alternative learning system test.

The agency declared that she had passed their high school accreditation standards.

In her graduation address, the young actress bursted into tears because she was finally able to finish secondary education.

Talking to “Showbiz News Ngayon,” Chiu revealed that it was actually her grandmother’s wish for her to finish school even before she ventured into the entertainment world.

Amid her success, Chiu disclosed that it was not easy to study and work at the same time.

Kapag walang work, nag-aaral ako, nagrereview para sa exam,” she related.

The young star also belied the notion that all artists do not dream of finishing their studies.

Nonetheless, Chiu was delighted for what she has achieved.

Pero ayun natapos siya,” she said.

Kim Chiu Ready To Date Simon Atkins?

De La Salle University basketball player-model Simon Atkins’ dream to talk to young actress Kim Chiu finally came true.

In a press conference, Chiu told ABS-CBN News that she spoke with Atkins over the phone on Tuesday.

Chiu admitted that she got curious after it was reported that the UAAP basketball player wanted to meet her.

To satisfy her curiousity, she confessed that she searched Atkins on the Internet.

Kasi ‘yong isang friend niya pinakausap sa akin," Chiu said.

"Sabi ko, ‘Bakit ko siya kakauusapin?’ Gusto daw akong makausap," she added.

Would she agree to go out on a date with him? "Hindi ko pa alam, depende, depende."

Chiu is said to be the former girlfriend of actor Gerald Anderson, her longtime on-screen partner.

The young actress said she is not searching for love right now. "'Yong pagmamahal… darating at darating 'yan. Hindi naman hinahanap 'yan. Darating ng kusa 'yan ng hindi mo sinasadya," she said.

As for actor Jason Abalos, Chiu’s rumored suitor, the actress said Abalos is just a friend.

"Si Jason kasi mabait siya… Sobrang bait niya, palabiro, joker, pero 'yon, magkaibigan lang muna kami," Chiu said.
