Fair Weather

Tomorrow is my last day of final exams. Thursday I'm seeing The Hangover Part II with my advisory (kool kats huh) and Friday is the last day of school. Then I'll have a month of freedom in which I mooch around and draw, and then finally I'll have a month of mooching around FIT and drawing (jayplay it's a learning experience). I couldn't be happier.

How to look hot this summer?

The fashion fever has gripped our favourite stars in this hot season. Here is how to stay cool and look hot in their style this summer. The pretty Tamanna would suggest a white kurti and the gorgeous Shruti Haasan will recommend the shorts.

In an exclusive photoshoot for the Southscope magazine, several young actors and actresses decided to indulge in summer fashion and shot in casuals and chic dresses. The lover boy Naga Chaitanya looked cool in the shorts and stole, and it was an unruffled white shirt and specs for Ram Charan Teja, giving him a smart techie look.

For most of them, being comfortable is the first priority. That ensured, one can always play with the style sense. So, don’t fuss and stay calm.

Teenage Music Festivals and Lemonade Lipgloss

That's basically what comes to mind when someone says "Summer." I've been getting into my Summer Mode by listening to awful, catchy, house-party type pop songs. Mostly by 3OH!3. When I was in 8th grade I went to the Warped Tour and I thought I was so awesome because I got to hang out with 16 year old fan girls wearing too much makeup and ripped fishnets with skate shoes. 3OH!3 was there but I skipped their set because I wanted to stand on line for the Escape the Fate signing (don't judge, they weren't as creepy back then). I was basically hyperventilating for the three seconds I was within a one-foot vicinity of Max Green. Then the security guy told me to move. But the best part, at least in my 8th-grade mind, was the fact that I was front row middle for Escape the Fate's set. Looking back, I'm not going to deny that it was fun. I got kicked in the head multiple times but y'know at least I experienced having my eardrums blown out with angst-y, melodramatic "alternative rock," and screaming myself hoarse. Many of the kids that attend Warped Tour have side-bangs (usually with neon streaks), and are the type that make themselves up for Photobooth pictures and post "artsy" photos they got off "we heart it" on their super artsy tumblr. It's an enthusiastic crowd.

This Teen Vogue editorial is more Fall than Summer, but I imagine they are the super glamorous high fashion teenagers that would attend a Warped Tour exclusively for models. If they lost the blazers and gloves it would be perf.

Milan Fashion Week: Etro Spring/Summer 2011 Fashion Show

Designer Veronica Etro follows the global cultural trail in the Etro spring/summer 2011 collection at Milan Fashion Week.

Etro, the family brand renowned for its multi-coloured prints, showcased ancient global cultures in an exotic presentation at Milan Fashion Week today (Friday).

The designer, Veronica Etro, took inspiration from the Tuareg, Navajo, Berber and Ndebele tribes.

The kaleidoscopic mix of ethnic print and pattern worked to great effect in the all-white environs of the vast, white hall on the outskirts of the city, normally used as an ice-rink, where the show was staged.

Richly-embroidered jackets featured patchworked and beaded geometric patterns, mixed with chain-mail striping.

Silk maxi-dresses, tethered by collars and torques in hammered metal, were printed with dazzling florals and chevrons. The use of concertina-pleats gave added volume to long, flowing, tunics and ankle-length skirts.

Jumpsuits and peasant-style dresses, fastened with a scarf-tie at the neck, came in vivid paisley, tattoo and zig-zag motifs, worn with matching 'leg-warmer boots', beaded sandals, or multi-coloured wedge-shoes.

Framed 'foulard' prints, in earth tones punctuated with turquoise and orange, were used for loose jackets and coats, with blouses and trousers in spice tones.

Etro, founded in Milan by the designer's father, Gimmo, more than 40 years ago, has a wide celebrity following and is particularly favoured by the American First Lady, Michele Obama, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Aniston and Kate Hudson.

Milan Fashion Week continued tonight (Friday) with the spring/summer 2011 collection by Donatella Versace for Versace. Other major brands showing here over the next three days include Giorgio Armani, Roberto Cavalli, Emilio Pucci, Missoni, MaxMara, and Dolce & Gabbana.
