Mix Tapes and Granny Shoes for Spring 2011

I made a playlist of 42 songs and burned in onto a CD. Then I decorated the jewel case with collage pieces cut out from old issues of Harper's Bazaar. I might give the mixtape away as a gift, but I quite like the collage covers I made so I'm hesitant to part with it.

In case you are wondering what the mixtape consists of, here are the songs:

I was on SSENSE earlier today (always a good way to pass the time) to look at shoes for Spring 2011 and I think I want some nice frumpy kicks.

Marc by Marc Jacobs "Wertmuller" wedge
These are great because from the front, they look like quasi-orthopedic sneaker-type shoes. But once you see the wedge, they look nice. Real nice.

Surface to Air "Blade" slippers
I imagine a grandpa wearing these with a velvet robe, smoking a cigarette and shuffling around his yellowing shag rug.

Diane Von Furstenberg "Faye" clogs
This print look likes something you would find on the carpet of a hospital, or maybe a sad nursing home or cheap hotel. Plus they're clogs so y'know.
Rag & Bone "Wakerfield" boots
Jil Sander mesh oxfords
The mesh gives these otherwise vintage-looking oxfords an update.
Alexander Wang "Saskia" gladiator
Oh man. These look like Tevas, the ultimate ugly tourist shoe.
