Nikki Sixx has a new book! It's titled "This is Gonna Hurt" and is a compilation of Sixx's dark photography depicting deformed individuals and other "shocking" images. It's reminiscent of Gottfried Helnwein's work — Sixx even stated in his video for the book that he aims to "dig into the things that really scare you." That being said, there is a fine line between "sensationalist" and "artistic." Sixx has an amazing creative process, but I feel like a lot of the images in this book are more freak-show than artistic. But I guess all art has to have that sensationalist element to it — whether it be deformity or insane perfection — or else it won't quite stick in our minds. 

okay I don't really like the cover. but still. 

Nikki Sixx is my favorite member of Motley Crue so I'm definitely going to check out this book as soon as I can.
