Taylor Swifts Covers USA Weekend Magazine

Taylor is the cover girl for USA Weekend! She did a brand new photoshoot and an interview which you can read below.

In a rehearsal space near downtown Nashville, Taylor Swift is working on songs for her summer tour. Dressed casually in a summery blue and tan dress with her hair pulled back in a single braid that hangs below her shoulders, she plays a crystal-studded guitar while she sings a sad waltz, then switches it out for a banjo as her band kicks into her latest country hit, Mean.

Now 21 and living on her own since moving out of her parents' house 20 miles away last June, Swift calls her midtown Nashville penthouse “a wonderland” of barn-wood floors, reclaimed brick walls and mismatched kitchen décor.

“The best thing about being on your own is having that sanctuary,” she says, settling her slender frame into a leather couch. “That place that's yours.”

This week, Swift lands in Columbus, Ohio, on the first leg of an ambitious, six-month North American tour that takes her to 30 states and Canada. And Wednesday, the country star is up for three awards at the CMT Music Awards.

Before she hit the road again, we asked the country sensation if she would answer some of the thousands of questions submitted online from USA WEEKEND readers.

For the Aussie teen publication’s “U Make The Mag” edition, fans voted the “Story Of Us” singer as their number one choice (just edging out Gossip Girl Blake Lively) for summer cover girl. If this shot of the Billboard Music Award winner looks familiar, it’s because it was taken from the retro chic shoot T-Swift did with photographer Jonathan Fenn earlier this year.

Taylor Swift Raises $750,000 for Tornado Victims

Doing what she can to help those in need, Taylor Swift took the unprecedented step of opening the last dress rehearsal for her Speak Now Tour for fans as a fundraiser to benefit victims of recent deadly tornadoes in the Southeast.
The sold-out show raised over $750,000 while being held at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday night (May 21).

Talking about the effort, Miss Swift said, “I’ve never opened a rehearsal to the public before, but I felt that inviting my fans to the last rehearsal for the Speak Now Tour would be a great way to raise money."
Meanwhile, Taylor will get the North American leg of her “Speak Now” tour underway in Omaha, Nebraska on Friday, May 27th.

Taylor Swift Talks Romance With InStyle Magazine

She’s had her fair share of famous gentleman callers, and Taylor Swift says she’s happy to just take it as it comes.
The “Should’ve Said No” songstress explained to InStyle, "There are no rules when it comes to love. I just try to let love surprise me because you never know who you're going to fall in love with.”

“You never know who's going to come into your life – and for me, when I picture the person I want to end up with, I don't think about what their career is, or what they look like. I picture the feeling I get when I'm with them."
Taylor added, "I'm really a daydreamer and a hopeful person. When it comes to 'happily ever after,' I always have a tendency to write a happy ending to my songs. That's probably wishful thinking on my part."

Taylor’s debut album ‘Taylor Swift’ has officially sold over 5 million copies in the U.S which makes her the second female country artist to do this with two or more albums. Shania Twain was the last person to do this! This is a huge achievement and we can’t imagine the excitement that Taylor’s feeling right now because Shania is not only a legendary artist like Taylor, but she is also one of Taylor’s role models when it comes to why she wanted to get into country music. There’s no doubt that Speak Now will reach the 5 million mark as well! Congrats Taylor!

Taylor Swift Scores Most Single Digital Downloads‎

Taylor Swift now has more digital single download certifications than any artist in history.

According to the Recording Industry Association of America, Swift's sold 22.5 million digital songs over the course of her career, besting her nearest competitors Lady Gaga, Rihanna and the Black Eyed Peas.

Among Swift's latest certifications is a triple platinum award for "You Belong with Me."  Her singles "Fifteen," "Forever & Always" and "Back to December" have also been certified platinum.

Swift was the RIAA's top certified artist for digital sales in the past decade spanning 2000 to 2009, as well.

Taylor Swift Buys $1.4 Million Home For Parents

She's a star who is known for always giving back, and now Taylor Swift has shown her generosity to her closest loved ones -as she reportedly gifted a a million dollar Nashville estate to her mom and dad.
According to Us magazine, the 21-year-old singer just signed the papers on a $1.4 million Tennessee home for her parents, Scott and Andrea.

Taylor Swift Tells Why She Won't Do Nude, or Even Sexy, Photoshoots ‎

Not everyone's getting naked!
Unlike a lot of her contemporaries, 21-year-old Taylor Swift isn't willing to strip down to sell more records. "I like wearing pretty dresses and I like trying out new styles, but I don't feel comfortable taking my clothes off," she tells London's The Telegraph.

"I wouldn't wear tiny amounts of clothing in my real life, so I don't think it's necessary to wear that stuff in photo shoots," she says. Do people ever try to talk her into dressing more provocatively? "Not anymore, no."

Swift first visited Nashville, Tennessee's Music Row when she was 11 years old. She'd watched a documentary about fellow country star Faith Hill that mentioned how the 43-year-old had been discovered there, "so of course I got it in my head that there was this magical land called Nashville where dreams come true and that's where I need to go!"
"I began absolutely non-stop tormenting my parents, begging them on a daily basis to move there," she says. Now Swift's apartment is two blocks from Music Row. "It's so crazy to think that now things are a lot different."

Country singer Taylor Swift has revealed that she has found another hidden talent - cutting hair.
Swift, 21, discovered she was good with the scissors when one of her backing singers on her 'Speak Now tour' asked for a trim.
"One day my backup singer was like, 'I feel like I need to do something drastically different'. I said, 'Why don't you cut your hair?' She said, 'Let's do it now!'" the Daily Star quoted Swift as telling US TV host Jay Leno.
"So we're kind of delirious from the road and I get scissors and I don't know what I'm doing! She wanted full bangs (a fringe) and I was like, 'I have no training! I'm the last person you should suggest to cut your hair!'
"She looked awesome so I started cutting all the people on the road's hair!" she added.

Taylor Swift Celebrates 20 Million Sales In London ‎

Taylor Swift ended her European tour on a celebratory note.
Not only did she perform in front of thousands of fans, she got an honour for reaching the 20 million mark in worldwide album sales.
A giddy Swift was given a plaque commemorating the milestone before her concert on Wednesday night. Swift gushed that it was "unreal."
The 21-year-old Grammy-winner released her latest multiplatinum effort, Speak Now, last autumn. It is just the third album of her young career.
She wrapped up her European tour with her London concert and is due to start her North American tour in Omaha, Nebraska, on May 27.
Swift said she made the most of her time off in Europe sight-seeing and shopping - and she is wondering how she will get all of her trinkets home.

Taylor Swift to star with Zac Efron in The Lorax

I don’t know how many times I have to say this, but Taylor Swift couldn’t act her way out of a wet paper bag. It’s a pity, really, but maybe girlfriend should stick to whatever it is that she does best. Rihanna and Taylor Swift Want to Charge You for Tap Water

You know when you go to a restaurant and instead of ordering a $5 soda, you decide to just go with a glass of water? Well if Rihanna and Taylor Swift have their way, you're going to start paying for that glass of tap water soon too.

They've added their name to Unicef's Tap Project, which urges restaurants to start charging at least $1 for tap water.

In one of the advertising posters, Rihanna poses next to a bottle of her personalized drink with the words, "Rihanna Tap Water. Not your typical tap water, unless of course, you live next door to Rihanna."

A message on the Unicef Celebrity Tap website reads, "Celebrities have donated their own tap water to help raise awareness of the world water crisis. Donations enter individuals in our sweepstakes to win an esteemed collection of these famous tap waters."
