Remember the Girls

leather pouch, And I Don't Want to Live this Life by Deborah Spungen, Fletcher by Lyell sweater, resin charm I made at FIT, chain bracelet from Hot Topic.

This is slightly Tavi-esque, what with the whole object mood board thing. I was cleaning my room and I came across And I Don't Want to Life this Life, a biography of Nancy Spungen written by Deborah Spungen, her mother. The book is obviously tragic, but it gets you into the whole broken girl//misunderstood//only-the-good-die-young mode. So I guess I was trying to mix Nancy's childhood trinkets with a melancholy vibe.

I've been really into Garbage lately. Shirley Manson is basically beast; I guess I look up to her — her lyrics so accurately and wittily encapsulate the thoughts angst-y teenage girls have about rival peers, boys who look like girls, and self-pity (see: I'm Only Happy When it Rains). Shirley's kind of like a hardcore-but-not-really-trying version of Debbie Harry.

and look she still works the leopard coat.
