Top 10 Most Formidable Women In Modern History

Female criminals have captured headlines and imaginations since there were newspapers and people to say "holy crap, a woman did that?"

Not all the women on this list are necessarily criminals, but they are all dangerous in one form or another. They've written manifestos, murdered, maimed, run organized criminal operations, influenced hearts and minds, and even kicked a whole lot of ass.

So without further ado, here are 10 Truly Dangerous Women...!!

01.Aileen Wuornos, a Real Female Serial Killer :-

When it comes to dangerous women, there are few more terrifying than Aileen Wuornos, the best-known American serial killer.

Wuornos, whose story was made into the Hollywood movie "Monster," lived a life seemingly made to create a killer. The closest thing Wuornos ever got to a break was when her father was convicted of raping a 7-year-old girl. It was a break because he never had a chance to meet, and presumably screw up, his infant daughter. When she was 4, Wuornos and her brother were abandoned by their mother in 1960, leaving them to be raised by their maternal grandparents.

02.The Manson Family Women :-

In 1969, through the power of a Svengali-like influence, Charles Manson turned 5 attractive, intelligent young women into vicious criminals.

Sandra Good, Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme, Susan Atkins, Leslie Van Houten, and Patricia "Katie" Krenwinkel will forever be known as the Manson Women.

03.Sandra Avila Beltran, the Drug Queen of the Pacific :-

What does it take to be a truly dangerous woman? Consider Sandra Avila Beltran, who combines a stomach for violence with the power and influence that comes with being a beautiful woman working in a man's field.

Beltran is a massively successful drug cartel leader known in Mexico as a sort of folk hero. They call her "La Reina del Pacífico" (the Queen of the Pacific) for becoming the only woman to rise to prominence in Mexico's violent drug trade. There's even a song written in her honor -- a folk ballad that describes her as "a top lady who is a key part of the business."

In 2001, authorities busted up a shipment of 9 tons of cocaine. The trail led back to Beltran's lover at the time, Juan Diego Espinoza Ramirez, a drug trafficker known as "El Tigre" and wanted by the United States.

04.Ulrike Marie Meinhof, Militant German Activist :-

Bank robberies, bombings and the formation of the German militant group Red Army Faction (RAF) made Ulrike Marie Meinhof one dangerous lady.

Known alternately as a terrorist and a folk hero, there is no question that Meinhof and the RAF were outright criminals. The left-wing members considered themselves communist urban guerillas, and organized in response to what they saw as a reluctance to deNazify conservative West German society.

But even if you agree with her political views, it's hard to get behind Meinhof's actions. After working as a journalist sympathetic to the various socialist and communist student movements emerging in Germany in the late '60s, Meinhof decided it was time to participate. With the help of an armed accomplice, Meinhof helped RAF co-founder Andreas Baader escape from prison. In the process, a 64-year-old librarian was shot, but survived -- the first victim of the Baader Meinhof Gang.

05.Marylin the Colombian Assassin :-

The story of photo journalist Jason P. Howe serves as a grim reminder that there's nothing sexy about a life of murder for hire.

While working on a project in Colombia, Howe befriended a beautiful young girl named Marylin. With friends on all three sides of the complicated conflict between the government military, the Farc rebels and the AUC paramilitaries, she helped Howe navigate a dangerous world where one misstep meant a gruesome death.

06.Aafia Siddiqui, the Highest Ranked Woman in al-Qaeda :-

Without a doubt, the case of Aafia Siddiqui is the strangest and most confusing story in this list.

According to the FBI, Siddiqui was arrested with suspicious items on her person July 17, 2008, in Ghazni, Afghanistan. While being held, Siddiqui is accused of picking up an unsecured rifle and firing at a soldier working with the FBI team. She failed to hit anyone before she was disarmed and shot twice in the abdomen.

Upon her arrest, Siddiqui was called "the most important catch in five years," by former CIA terrorist hunter John Kiriakou.

07.Valerie Solanas, Seriously Hates Men :-

No one else in history has ever proposed a genocide as widespread and sweeping as Valerie Solanas did in her SCUM Manifesto. In 1968, Solanas proposed in her manifesto that every single male in the world should be killed. And Andy Warhol was almost her first victim.

Advocating a new all-female world order, Solanas believed that men were a plague to be wiped out. Oh and SCUM? That stands for Society for Cutting Up Men. To be fair, Solanas had never had an easy time with men. She claimed that she was sexually abused by her father. She never got along with her stepfather. And when her mother sent her to live with her grandfather at 13, things got so bad she was kicked out and rendered homeless by 15.

08.Anne Grigg-Booth, Angel of Mercy :-

Few people ever get as close to you as a nurse does. With notoriously heavy case loads, nurses are the grunts of the health care industry. They deal the most with patients. They administer the drugs. And they hold your life in their hands.

Occasionally that power is abused. History is littered with nurses known by some as Angels of Mercy -- health care professionals who take it upon themselves to put a patient out of his or her misery. Anne Grigg-Booth is one of the best known modern examples.

09.Laila Ali, a True Fighter :-

Laila Ali is the most refined and most non-criminal name on this list, but that doesn't make her any less dangerous. Considered by many to be the greatest female boxer to ever enter the ring, Ali boasts a flawless 24-0 record with 21 wins coming by way of knock out.

10.Domino Harvey, Bounty Hunter :-

"Heads you live. Tails you die."

That was the catchphrase of the enigmatic British model turned bounty hunter Domino Harvey. If you've seen the movie, you know the rough outline of Harvey's life, but what they left out was a debilitating addiction to drugs that would ultimately take her life just months before the movie was released in 2005.

The daughter of British actor Laurence Harvey and model Paulene Stone, Domino grew up priveleged and private-school educated. At first, it seemed she might follow in her mother's footsteps, but the 6-foot-tall unabashed tomboy with a thing for guns and violence didn't mesh with the fashion world. She moved to Los Angeles in 1989 and worked as a ranch hand in San Diego and a volunteer firefighter near the Mexican border before training as a bounty hunter.

Extremely Unique Shaped Lakes and Rivers

Most Bizarrely Shaped Lakes and Rivers
Heart shaped lake, possibly in Korea

Look hard enough and you’ll see the physical environment, both natural and man-made, has a message for us – sometimes in the most unusual places. Lakes and other bodies of water aren’t the first places one might expect to discern symbols, figures and other shapes, but viewed from above they can be surprisingly communicative. We’ve scoured the globe for images of lakes whose shapes speak volumes.

The Lake Eros had a hand in

Nature again has romantic designs with a lake in the shape of the universal symbol for love. This one is to be found in the less frost-bitten environment of Kerala, India – specifically within the beautiful Wayanad district, near Chembra Peak, at about 1,398 metres above sea level. With a surface area of 1,827 square meters, it’s not a big a heart, but it is a fairly warm one.

To be honest there are simply loads of heart-shaped lakes out there – everywhere from Ohio to Korea – so we just didn’t have room for all of them here. Shot from a balloon, this next lake – or perhaps more accurately pond – looks like the letter ‘A’ to us. Anyone know of other lakes that spell something out to them? We’d be interested to hear.

Nature had a little help from Man with this pistol-like body of water, Belgium’s 2.5 km long Schulensmeer, but it’s coincidence it looks like an ad for the next 007 movie. It was artificially created in the ’70s when sand was needed to build a nearby highway, and owes its shape to the parcels of land that were bought for this purpose. Popular for watersports, it’s also an overflow for the Demer River in case of flooding.

The Lake designed by Pisces

This frozen-over, fish-shaped wonder was captured on Alaska’s Mt. McKinley, the highest mountain peak in North America at around 6,194 metres. Mount McKinley actually has a larger rise than Mount Everest, as its base sits at a much lower elevation of 610 m, and is also bulkier than its Himalayan rival. With such imposing facts, it’s no wonder this obscurely fishy lake is less well-known.

The Lake in the image of Man

This next shape is clearly a product of deliberate human intervention in the natural landscape, a figure that stands some 140 metres tall in a lake located near Iacanga in the Brazilian state of São Paulo. However, aside from its location and vital statistics, information about this strange piece of land art is scarce. Anyone know anything we don’t? If so, pray do tell.

The Lake that says ‘How do you do?’
Most Bizarrely Shaped Lakes and Rivers

The previous lake may have been man-shaped by design, but this next one looks more natural; natural but not au naturel – see he’s wearing a hat and cane as he walks across the countryside. We’re not sure where this is, but we’ve featured it on EG before and one commenter reckoned it could be Blythefield Reservoir in Staffordshire, England; another said it must be Mr. Peanut of Planters fame.

The Lake of Lady Luck

Canada’s aptly-named Horseshoe Lake might bring luck for some, but geographically oxbow lakes like this are not uncommon. These sweeping U-shaped bodies of water are formed when a wide meander from a river’s main stem is cut off, creating the characteristically curved lake. This fine-looking example is located along the long the Red River, near Morris in southern Manitoba.

In this next pic a few emergent oxbow lakes are visible, one of which forms the eye of some strange-looking creature. Is it a bird sticking out its tongue and spitting stuff out? Maybe it’s just us. Anyways, the zigzagging body of water forming the outline of whatever-it-is is Fisheating Creek, which runs through Cowbone March west of Florida’s Lake Okeechobee, itself known as The Big O.

So how do oxbow lakes arise? Well many of them start out a lot like this. Yes, we know, it isn’t a lake, but it could be one in the making. This is Arizona’s Horseshoe Bend, a magnificent meander of the Colorado River situated slightly downstream from Lake Powell within Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. From the steep cliff above, some 305 metres higher up, it makes a breathtaking sight.

Mistakes of Science We Get From School

1. Water IS blue, not Just Because of the Sky
(Blue colored water caused not only a reflection of the sky)

Many believe that the lake and the blue sea "Only" because they reflect the blue sky. Actually, the water looks blue because they are really blue. Water molecules absorb light, and they absorb red frequencies more than the frequency of blue, so the frequency of blue appeared on the surface. Effect was small, so the color blue to be seen more clearly when observing layers of water or in dense enough. In salt water or mineral springs, mineral colors of decay can be seen.

Perefleksian color of the sky also provides a role for the blue ocean, but only when surface water is very calm and only when water was observed with a small kesudutan around 10 degrees.

2. Electricity does NOT travel at the speed of light
(Electrik / electricity does not travel at the speed of light)

Many textbooks claim that the electricity (electrons) flow through the cable runs at the speed of light. The fact is, the energy of fast flowing elektriklah (which is still slower than the speed of light). Electrons, which has mass, can move at the speed of Beautiful light by using the theory of relativity. The speed of the electric charge in electric current is very slow, around several centimeters per hour. In places where electric currents can be seen, as in electrophoresis, slow movement of the carrier can be seen directly.

3. Seasons are NOT the Same length
(Season deemed to have the same time period)

Because the earth moves faster in its orbit as it approached the sun, summer in the southern part of the earth / winter in the northern part of the earth is the shortest time for the season, with summer in the north or south of the longest winter. However, the difference is only felt a few days, while on Mars with an eccentric orbit, the difference was huge.

4. You will not get a cold a just from low temperature
(You will not get the flu from the cold only)

Has become a widespread misconception in the public that the common cold can be caused by cold weather. Reality, the common cold is caused by a virus and has nothing to do with low temperature or cold.

5. Saturn is NOT the only planet with rings
(Saturn is not the only planet that has rings)

Jupiter, Uranus, and Neptune also have rings around them, although that was in Saturn's rings are the most obvious and easily seen.

6. Pls are NOT hot meteors land on Earth they want
(Meteors are not hot when it landed on earth)

When a meteor landed on earth, meteors are usually not hot like most of the meteor in Hollywood movies. Usually, only warm. Meteor velocity sufficient to melt the outer surface, but the material that melts quickly separated, and the interior of the meteor did not have time to heat up because rocks are poor heat conductors.

7. Clouds do NOT form Because of the water's temperature
(The cloud is not formed due to the influence of air temperature)

Is the wrong knowledge that the clouds are formed from the cold "hold" less water vapor than warm air. Air does not have the capacity to contain water vapor. Only the temperature of the water itself (and vicinity) which causes the humidity, condensation process, and then the formation of clouds.

8. People DID know Earth was not flat before Columbus
(People already knew the earth was not flat before Columbus)

Some believe that Christopher Columbus had difficulty in receiving support because the people of Europe believe that the earth was flat. In fact, sailors and navigators at that time knew that the earth is round, but (correct knowledge) do not agree with estimates from Columbus of the distance to India. If America does not exist, and Columbus went on his journey to India that actually, he will not be able to survive longer to achieve.

9. The Great Wall of China is NOT particularly visible from space
(China Great Wall not visible from space)

At the time in low orbit, the Great Wall of China can be seen from outer space but not as unique from the digembor rant. From the low earth orbit, many artificial objects can be seen on earth, not just the Great Wall of China. Highways, ships at sea, dams, railways, cities, rice fields, and several buildings.

As has been claimed that the Great Wall of China is a man-made objects are visible on the Moon, Apollo astronauts have reported that they did not see any human-made object from the moon.

10. There is NO "dark side" of the Moon
(There is no dark side (which is always dark) of the month)

Months in orbit synchronous (synchronous orbit), this means, the moon menmbutuhkan exactly the same time to rotate once on its axis with the rotation of the earth. So the moon has the far side / rear / dark / outside, because it always gives the same to the earth's surface when it rotates. When the moon is estimated to be between the Sun and Earth, it dalah time "lunch" at the far side / outside / back of the moon and the night for the side facing the earth. When the Earth between the sun and moon, the part that much experience when "night" and "lunch time" for the part which faces the earth.

Englishmen also brought with them their traditions of pit fighting for which their breeds and the island dogs were inevitably mixed and eventually bred to produce the ultimate fighter. Nowadays the breed is used for guarding and the handling and driving of cattle.

1. Pit Bull
Origin: US, XIX century
Weight: 55-65 lbs
Height: 18-22 inches

The pit bull was bred especially for dog fighting and, sad as it is, they’re still used for this purpose today. A pit bull is a fearless dog that will take on any opponent. They will lock their jaws onto the prey until it's dead. Pit bulls have a reputation of mauling people to death.
