Peepli Live produced by Aamir Khan and directed by Anusha Rizvi is a film that talks about the innumerable suicides of farmers in rural India.

The movie stars Raghubir Yadav, Omkar Das, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Shalini Vatsa, Farukh Jaffer amongst others.

Peepli Live Movie Preview

On the eve of national elections in the village of Peepli, two poor farmers, Natha and Budhia, face losing their land over an unpaid government loan. Desperate, they seek help from an apathetic local politician, who suggests they commit suicide to benefit from a government program that aids the families of indebted deceased farmers. When a journalist overhears Budhia urge Natha to “do what needs to be done” for the sake of their families, a media frenzy ignites around whether or not Natha will commit suicide. Soon Natha becomes a cause célèbre, who draws out the true character and motivations of those who cross his path.

Anusha Rizvi’s auspicious first feature, Peepli Live, is a fresh and intelligently spun satire of the real life epidemic of farmer suicides that have plagued India for the past decade. With a deft hand, Rizvi infuses humor and buoyancy in depicting this tragic predicament, illuminating the true colors of many corridors of Indian society.

THE 4TH IDIOT arrives

The movie THE 4TH IDIOT starts where the block buster movie 3 IDIOTS ends i.e. at the school of Phunsuk Wangdu. It gives an insight that if Phunsuk Wangdu was the school principal than what will that school be like?

It is the story of a boy, Pappu who, by using the techniques taught by Ranchordas Chanchar in 3 IDIOTS achieved his otherwise seemingly unachievable goals like getting 1st position in school, winning his dream girl and even going to the moon. With two melodious songs and narration by Chatur Ramalingam of 3 IDIOTS (Omi Vaidya), it is not only entertaining but also a journey to our brain to understand its hidden potential. In the process of watching the movie the audience will learn important life skills. Omi Vaidya has not only anchored the movie THE 4TH IDIOT but also sung a song.

It is produced and directed by Guinness world record holder for strong memory and maximum push-ups, Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury. It’s an animated movie with the budget of Rs.2 Crore to be screened in World Unity Convention Center in Lucknow. The premiere event will showcase the movie to about 1 lakh students from May 9th 2010. Omi Vaidya (Chatur of 3 IDIOTS), Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury and the complete team of THE 4TH IDIOT will be present on the occasion of the World premiere.

Bipasha, Kareena, Priyanka are Bollywood’s ‘hot’ girls

Not everyone can carry off a bikini well. In Bollywood, Kareena Kapoor, Bipasha Basu and Priyanka Chopra are the stars who do it with panache thanks to their attitude and confidence, say fashion experts. While Kareena wore a lemon bikini for Tashan and became the talk of the town for her size zero, Priyanka slipped into a sexy golden swimsuit for Dostana.

“Kareena and Priyanka carried off their bikini act in their respective movies pretty well because they had the right attitude and confidence to carry off the two-piece with aplomb. They were sure of their bodies as well as the way they were looking on the camera,” ace photographer Dabboo Ratnani said.

According to Mumbai-based celebrity designer Gavin Miguel, Bipasha rocked the big screen when she wore a bikini in Dhoom 2. “Bipasha really took the audience by surprise with her bikini act in the movie. She looked hot, sexy and very confident. The best part about her is that she has got a well-proportioned body and so a two-piece looks good on her,” said Miguel.

‘It’ll even be nice to do a film together’: Shah Rukh

Shah Rukh Khan expressed that holding back releases from multiplexes was no ‘strike’ or ‘embargo’. “It is just a pipeline in the entire system that needs some working. We are not going to cut our nose to spite our face.

We aren’t fighting out of greed or for profit. We are fighting for equality. Our cry is ‘Fair rights for Friday nights’.

We are the employees of the audience and not of the multiplexes,” added SRK. Hopefully some good will emerge out of the dialogue between the forum and the exhibitors; after all it brought Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh together.

“It’s nice to sit on the podium together, it’ll be nice to sit in a car together, it’ll even be nice to do a film together,” said Shah Rukh. “We’re mature, intelligent people, I’m a little less intelligent than Aamir, but our camaraderie is really a non-issue right now. There are bigger things that need attention.”

‘We’re not splitting’: Hrithik

Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan has rubbished reports of his having split with wife Suzanne saying that he is having “a picnic” with her and his kids.

A leading Mumbai tabloid reported that Hrithik and Suzanne have parted ways when she had moved to her parents’ house. “It’s too funny! Yes, Suzanne shifted to her parents’ place with the kids two days ago and I was to join her on my return as there is a white ant treatment going on in my house and a section of my floor is being renovated.

I’m with Suzanne right now having a picnic with my wife, kids and in-laws,” said Roshan Junior. It was allegedly reported that that trouble began to brew in their paradise after Roshan started becoming cosy with his Kites co-star, Mexican actress Barbara Mori. But none of this is true.

Deepika Padukone: Not insecure

A lovely bouquet of flowers was recently presented to Ranbir Kapoor in front of Deepika Padukone. Interestingly, the bouquet was from a secret admirer who even proposed marriage in the greeting card that came with it.

And girlfriend Deepika, instead of getting suspicious simply laughed it off. A source said: “The duo burst out laughing as Ranbir’s secret admirer expressed her desire to marry him. It shows Deepika is not insecure, possessive or jealous.” Well, we’re sure Deepika must be getting her share of flowers, too. If not, Ranbir can send her some... After all this is one ‘budding’ romance!

Mugdha was flying high

Mugdha Godse -- the promising newcomer from Fashion seems to be highly inspired by “realistic” filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar. The actress wanted her drunk-scene from Jail to look convincing; so she actually consumed a bottle of champagne for a song sequence.

“For a song in Jail where Neil offers champagne to Mugdha, Mugdha insisted that actual champagne be poured into the glass. Madhur wanted to get the scene right and went for multiple retakes.

As a result Mugdha ended up consuming champagne sufficient enough to make her pleasantly tipsy,” we were informed. Of course the unit had reason enough to laugh their hearts out, but Mugdha was flying high and wouldn’t allow anyone to dampen her ‘spirit’.
