Mariel Rodriguez jealous of Bea Alonzo?

Mariel Rodriguez on Monday said she is not jealous of Bea Alonzo despite being the newest leading lady of Rodriguez's husband, action star Robin Padilla.

In an interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com on Monday, Rodriguez said that she has nothing against Alonzo and stressed that she supports Alonzo and her husband's first project together. Alonzo and Padilla are starring in ABS-CBN's newest television series "Guns and Roses."

"I'm not just use to it na katulad 'yung kumakanta (para sa promotion). Hindi ako sanay. Kasi ang alam ko sa akin lang siya kumakanta. Walang may kasalanan, walang anything. Hindi lang ako sanay," Rodriguez said.

"Hindi naman isyu ang pagta-trabaho. Alam namin 'yun kaya kami nagta-trabaho lalo na si Robin marami siyang gustong matulungan. This is our medium, na magawa kung ano ang gusto naming magawa," she added.

Rodriguez also added that she is happy that Padilla is working with Alonzo whom she describes as a great actress.

"I've always been a fan of Bea. Sa 'Maging Sino Ka Man' pa lang ni Bea, alam niya yan. For me, as a dramatic actress siya ang pinakamagaling. Siya ang Prinsesa ng Primetime at Reyna ng ABS-CBN. Talagang sobra kong saya na siya ang partner ni Robin," Rodriguez said.

Adjustment period

Rodriguez statement stemmed from Padilla's interview over "The Buzz" that he cried over his wife's sentiments.

Padilla married Rodriguez last year after a whirlwind romance on the set of the now defunct "Pilipinas Win na Win" noontime show.

The two were married in a ceremony inside the Taj Mahal in Agra, India last August. Plans to hold a church wedding in the Philippines have been put on hold.

Mariel said she is happy that her marriage to Padilla is getting stronger. She is also trying her best to adjust to Padilla's busy schedule now that the actor is doing a new teleserye.

"Sobrang bait niya talaga, as in ibang klase. Siguro hindi lang ako sanay. Kasi normally kapag weekend magkasama kami pero siyempre naiintindihan ko naman na nagta-trabaho siya. It's adjustment also for me. Kasi may ibang bagay na sa akin lang niya ginagawa. Pero ganoon siya talaga. Sobrang gentleman niya. Sobrang bait niya sa lahat. So I can't help but feel na aww hindi na kami laging magkasama pero he really makes an effort at nagpapasalamat ako doon," Rodriguez said.

No baby soon for Robin and Mariel?

Action star Robin Padilla has revealed that he and his wife, actress Mariel Rodriguez, do not have plans of having a baby of their own in the near future.

In an interview with “Showbiz News Ngayon” on Tuesday, Padilla said he’s contented with taking care of Rodriguez , whom he called as his “baby.”

“Baby? Huwag muna, huwag muna. Ang dami ko ng anak. Puwede na ‘yon. Para sa akin siguro, may panahon para doon. Napag-uusapan namin pero hindi ko ine-entertain. Para sa akin, siya ang baby ko, ako ang baby niya okay na iyon,” he said.

Mariel Rodriguez Denies Gap with Grandparents

Despite all the good things that’s currently happening to Mariel Rodriguez’s career, she is now hunted by an intrigue claiming that her grandparents feel rejected because of her hectic schedule.

Reports claim that ever since Rodriguez got married to action star Robin Padilla and made a comeback in show business, she lost quality time with her family.

The 26-year old actress, however, was quick to deny the rumor.

In an interview with “Showbiz News Ngayon” during the special screening of “Tum: My Pledge of Love” at Shangri-La Plaza on Thursday night, Rodriguez clarified that all is well between her and her grandparents.

“Hindi. Of course not. Nagpunta pa ako sa hospital noong nagkasakit si lola. Dati pa rin. Sobra silang walang tampo,” she said.

Rodriguez and Padilla are now busy preparing for the upcoming play date of “Tum: My Pledge of Love,” their first movie together.

Asked if she is nervous about viewers’ feedback about their movie, Rodriguez said: “Ako sobra lang akong excited kasi finally makikita na nila number one ‘yong ginawa namin sa India. Mashi-share namin kasi India is so much part of us eh. So we get to share that to everyone.”

More than the anxiety, Rodriguez disclosed that she is eager for people to see what their movie has to offer.

“We really want to give them something special. Hindi ‘yong regular na napapanood nila. It’s a different viewing experience,” she said.

“Tum: My Pledge of Love” will hit the big screens nationwide on April 6.

Celebrity couple Mariel Rodriguez and Robin Padilla will have their second wedding in June of this year.

In a press conference for "Tum, My Pledge of Love" on Saturday, the 2 stars, who had a secret wedding in India, announced that Rodriguez will be a “June bride.”

According to reports, Rodriguez is “heavily guarding” Padilla by frequenting the set of the action star’s newest television series, “Guns and Roses.” Padilla is paired with Bea Alonzo in the upcoming TV show. He personally picked Alonzo to be his next leading lady.

During a press conference for noontime show "Happy Yipee Yehey!," Rodriguez disputed the reports.

New show

The actress has missed hosting a noontime program after taking an indefinite leave from ABS-CBN's defunct noontime show "Pilipinas Win na Win."

"Kasi iba talaga ang energy ng isang noontime show kaya masaya ako dahil once again magagawa ko ito. Na-miss ko lang talaga yong saya na it brings," Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez is co-hosting the show with Bianca Manalo, Melai Cantiveros, Randy Santiago, John Estrada and Toni Gonzaga.

"Excited talaga kami. Alam mo kuwela si Bianca, nae-excite akong makasama siya everyday. Si Melai busy lang pero kwela, masaya siya," Rodriguez added.

The actress said viewers should watch for the show's newest games and exciting segments.
