VIDEO: Rutgers, St. John’s game ends in controversy Posted: 09 Mar 2011 02:21 PM PST Rutgers and St. John’s played a hard fought game down to the buzzer this afternoon to determine who would move on to the quarterfinals of the Big East tournament. Unfortunately for all involved, the officials decided to mail it in early, literally not even paying attention to the end of the game. Down two points with 4.9 seconds remaining, Rutgers desperately tried to heave the ball the length of the court. But St. John’s Justin Brownlee intercepted it and proceeded to travel, step out of bounds, and throw the ball into the crowd with 1.7 seconds left. Despite the obvious infractions, the whistle never blew and an angry protest from Rutgers head coach Mike Rice was all in vain as referee Jim Burr sprinted off the court into the tunnel. It’s truly one of the worst officiated endings I’ve ever seen in the history of basketball. Yes, the hyperbole is warranted here, trust me. Here’s the clip courtesy of mocksession.com: |
MLB TV and NBA League Pass come to Apple TV Posted: 09 Mar 2011 01:44 PM PST
It’s long been available for streaming on the Internet, it made its way to mobile devices recently, and now it’ll be available on Apple TV, as will NBA League Pass Broadband. So sayeth the league themselves, who promise the usual “regular season features” like: HD Quality (where available!), LIVE and archived games, home and away broadcasts, quick navigation to run scoring plays or a particular at bat, and much, much more! It’ll cost you $99.99 for the “regular” version of MLB.tv and $119.99 for the “premium.” Upgrades of the latter include live-game DVR controls (very cool) and PIP/split screen, which are both probably worth it for the full year, especially if you’re going to be that invested in your baseball watching. Additionally, NBA League Pass is now available for Apple TV as well — it’s either $64.95 (pick seven teams) or $99.95 (all 30 teams) for the full season. There are a few downsides, though. (Aren’t there always?) First, you’ve got buy an Apple TV, of course, but that’s only going to cost you about $95, which isn’t horrible. And, you REALLY want to make sure you only purchase the second-generation Apple TV (it’s the black one), because the first one won’t help you, as they don’t update the software on those. (Side rant — this sucks because the first-gen Apple TV’s have tons of storage, whereas the second-gen’s don’t, but you can’t use Netflix on the former either, sigh.) Secondly (and most importantly), is the fact that some games will still be blacked out. This is devastating for a pile of reasons, but usually because people who buy the league pass want to see their favorite team. And if you live near your favorite team, that might not be happening. Aida Yespica is an excellent bikini model (32 pics) Posted: 09 Mar 2011 01:00 PM PST ![]() Dammit, she spotted me in the bushes... Here’s a WAG you may not be familiar with, but soon will be, named Aida Yespica. Aida is seen here posing in bikinis for the 2011 Sielei collection. Yes, another bikini company. It never ends (thankfully). She either is or was the girlfriend of footballer Matteo Ferrari, depending on what you read (or don’t) and they have a kid together. Yes, this Venezuelan beauty queen is a mom. She also participated in Italy’s version of Celebrity Survivor. Wait, they have a Celebrity Survivor? Why haven’t we had one of those yet? Probably because our celebrity version would consist of people like Donny Osmond, Jennifer Grey, and other people no one cares about. Oh, right, that’s Dancing with the Stars. Never mind. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Alligator named Wally found guarding illegal California pot farm Posted: 09 Mar 2011 12:34 PM PST I’ll admit that the intricacies of a pot farm/drug empire are foreign to me. But I know that the Southern California pot farmers who were raided by feds who had a pet alligator named Wally guarding the premises are the finest pot farmers I’ve ever heard of. ![]() I am shocked that people who deal regularly with marijuana would have an affinity for silly obscure cartoons Police were tipped off by neighbors about the massive pot farm in Hemet, California. They recovered approximately $1.5 million in marijuana from the raid. The officers turned over Wally the alligator to the local Department of Fish and Game where he was passed along to the Forever Wild Exotic Animal Sanctuary, a home for exotic animals in California. Ownership of an alligator in California is illegal. A representative for the Animal Sanctuary told the Press-Enterprise that the alligator was “extremely healthy — a little too well taken care of.” States all have their own laws and I guess it’s important that we adhere to them for fear of prosecution and subsequent sodomy. But still, this John Donna dude sounds awesome. $1.5 million in pot and an adorable, well-kept alligator named after a severely underrated Hanna-Barbera cartoon character? That beats the crap out of most of my friends’ offerings at their homes of decent beer, “Marvel Vs Capcom 3″, and silently masturbating in an adjacent room. And here’s a picture of Dashing Wally the Alligator for your adorable reference: ![]() Alligator Found Guarding Southern California Pot Farm [Aol] |
