I hope she brought a jacket or she could catch a cold in that outfit...

Awards season is officially in full swing now that the music people are also involved after holding their annual celebration of themselves at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards Sunday night. While I find it hard to stomach all the sucking up and narcissism that happens when these gatherings take place I am appreciative of the fact that many of the people who go to these things are sexy women wearing body-hugging outfits. Of course, last night was no exception. A few of those ladies in attendance, looking all hot and swanky were (in order below): Ciara, Kelly Osbourne, Hayley Williams, Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Dianna Agron, Miranda Lambert, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian, Julianne Hough, and Lea Michele, and Pauley Perrette.

New York Fashion Week: Nautica Fall 2011

Posted: 13 Feb 2011 03:43 PM PST

On Friday, Nautica showed their Fall 2011 collection to a huge crowd at the Library for the Performing Arts in Lincoln Center. Able to be there first hand to check out the show, trust me when I say Nautica will help you stay winning this Fall with some really nice outerwear and trimmer cuts.

Nautica has always been known for there nautical influences. Their collections never really went outside the usual shirt, polos, chinos, outerwear, and varying pieces within those areas. The detailing was always the same – anchors, sailboats, nautical stripes, etc. This collection takes those traditions and renews them with more trim fits, updated patterns and textures. You won’t see as much overt nautical themes as in the past. The colors are more subdued, coming from more a neutral palette, with bursts of safety orange.

In general, the collection is really nothing new in terms of what dudes have been wearing for much of the last 6-8 months or so. Meaning, if you were tired of the Americana/Heritage trends (read: Paul Bunyan in slim-fitting clothes), brace yourself for at least one more season of the same. I know, I know – I’m not happy about it either. The cut of the clothes has certainly been improved, which is crucial for Nautica. Its much more tailored and the clothes drape nicely. I never really liked Nautica because of how big even their smalls were. This is a big step in the right direction for them.

When it comes to outerwear, toggle coats will be back in full effect next season. If you’re looking for something that’s a bit different than your regular overcoat or peacoat the toggle coat (or duffel coat) is a great alternative. That safety orange color I mentioned earlier is going to be everywhere this Fall, so you might as well grab some now. It seems overwhelming, but if you marry it with darker pieces (as you’ll see in the looks), it can subdue the blinding brightness of the orange. Lastly, it seems like Nautica took a page out of L.L. Bean’s Signature F/W 2010 collection. A lot of the colors and textures (corduroys, wool, deep burgundies, and navies) are reminiscent of pieces from this past season.

Assuming Nautica’s price point stays where it has been (especially at its outlet stores), there are some great pieces you should look to add to your Fall/Winter repertoire. Check out some of my favorite looks (I took some pictures, but they’re taking forever to load and frankly, they’re awful quality. Thank God for GQ) and the full gallery below.

Sale Alert! Lands’ End Canvas – “The Classifieds” = massive discounts

Posted: 13 Feb 2011 10:30 AM PST

I know you probably spent all your money on your girl(s) this week. Time to give yourself a little lovin’ now. Lands’ End Canvas is having a huge sale via their “Classifieds” section online, so gear up on affordable duds while you can.

Ending this Friday, you don’t want to miss out on grabbing some essentials on the cheap(er) and stay looking great for the rest of Winter and early Spring.

Lands’ End Canvas isn’t exactly the more youthful line of Lands’ End, it’s more the edgier line. They’ve re-imagined the LE heritage pieces for the 21st century man. It’s for the guy who has a different attitude towards dressing – trimmer fits, effortlessly dressing up or down. So, this isn’t your Dad’s Lands’ End anymore. Dressing on the cheap never looked so good.

As if the prices at Lands’ End Canvas weren’t already affordable, this sale seems to be slashing most prices by at least half. Take this opportunity to stock up on some heavy knit shawl collar sweaters, lightweight crew/v-neck sweaters, and any other F/W essentials you maybe didn’t grab this year. Not to mention, some of these pieces could transition nicely to early Spring. Don’t worry about seeing the female clothing, just scroll down. I promise there’s men’s stuff left. For how long, though, is another story.

Get to it, you’re welcome.

Some of my favorite pieces on sale are below. If you’re a Large, please grab that double-breasted, shawl collared sweater coat. I’ll simultaneously hate you and be jealous of you for it.

8 fast food items that will ensure you die of a heart attack

fast food heart attack 8 fast food items that will ensure you die of a heart attack

Since we crank out so many stories each week some really good ones get lost in the cracks. And since so many new people visit Guyism every day (thank you), we thought we’d start taking some time on the weekends to share some classics that many of our newer readers may have missed.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Fast food is an American way of life. And so are heart attacks and obesity, giving the U.S. of A. top bragging rights. We love to bash the fast food industry in films and books like Super Size Me and Fast Food Nation. However, at 3am after a night of throwing back two-for-one well drinks, nothing really sounds better than a greasy burger. Here are eight of the most deadly glutinous sins in the history of fast food debauchery, sure to put your heart down for the count.

8 Hardee's Philly Cheese Steak Burger
hardees cheese steak 130x120 8 fast food items that will ensure you die of a heart attackYou love a Philly steak sandwich, right? And a good cheeseburger, right? Well, the good people at Hardee's have combined the two into a mutant hybrid that was once only found in the fantasies of Homer Simpson's mind. A 1/3-lb Angus beef patty, layered with thinly sliced steak, topped off with two kinds of cheese, jalapenos and onions. Angioplasty not included.

7 KFC Famous Bowls
KFC bowl 130x120 8 fast food items that will ensure you die of a heart attackIn this fast paced go, go, go world of today nobody really has the time to sit-down and eat a regular plate of food. Thankfully, Kentucky Fried Chicken came up with the KFC Bowl. A single bowl with an elegant blend of a biscuit, chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, cheese, and topped off with gravy. Otherwise known as a slop trough. Comedian Patton Oswalt, prefers to think of them as, "a failure pile in a sadness bowl."

6 Burger King's Stuffed Steakhouse Burger
loadedsteakburger 130x120 8 fast food items that will ensure you die of a heart attackMaybe you just found out your girlfriend's not pregnant or your fantasy football team is totally dominating and it's time to celebrate. A classy steakhouse would be great, but that's expensive and you've got weed to buy. Not to worry, Burger King's got you covered with their Goliath burger of an Angus beef patty, piled on with bacon, fried onions, cheese and mashed potatoes. And at only $4.99 your heart might take the hit, but your wallet certainly won't.

5 Nathan's Famous Chili Cheese Fries
Nathansfries 130x120 8 fast food items that will ensure you die of a heart attackEvery Fourth of July, dozens of fat guys from across the land gather at Nathan's Famous in Coney Island, NY for the annual hot dog eating contest — where they're promptly put to shame by a skinny Japanese kid. Since 1916, Nathan's has been the go-to for hot dogs, but it's the chili cheese fries that will really have your heart begging for mercy. A mound of fries, topped with nacho cheese and chili. And weighing in at 1,600 calories it pulls no punches. Party on!

4 Hardee's Monster Biscuit
hardees monster biscuit 350x306 130x120 8 fast food items that will ensure you die of a heart attackHardee's just couldn't stand not getting all the glory and makes a return to the list with their Monster Biscuit. Maybe you like ham biscuits, or sausage biscuits, or perhaps bacon, egg and cheese biscuits, but can never decide. Rejoice and thank the fast food gods, for they have heard your cries and come to the rescue. Rise and shine and get a start on the day with a sausage patty, bacon egg, ham, and cheese – oh yea, and it's between a butter biscuit. Have a glass of orange juice on the side. You know, to be all healthy and stuff.

3 Cinnabon's Pecanbon Roll
cinnabun 400x400 130x120 8 fast food items that will ensure you die of a heart attackSatisfy your sweet tooth and ruthless addiction for sugar and pure butter with Cinnabon's Pecanbon Roll. I mean, how could you not love a cinnamon bun topped with pecans and sweet caramel frosting?! If I could, I'd have that stuff directly injected into my veins. At 1,100 calories some might say it's a tad on the unhealthy side. Word on the street is Burger King is in talks with Cinnabon to produce a Pecanbon bacon burger.

2 Craz-E Burger, Various Locations
Craz E burger 130x120 8 fast food items that will ensure you die of a heart attackA beef patty, cheese, bacon, and fried egg between two Krispy Kreme glazed donuts, this un-godly creation is normally met with a, "what the fuuuck" upon first sight. Some say it was invented by deceased R&B singer Luther Vandross, others claim it was concocted by a bar owner who ran out of burger buns. Normally, found at state fairs, independent eateries and Kirstie Alley's kitchen it's sure to give your heart a heavy ass-kicking. Finish off with a Pecanbon for a dessert.

1 Taco Bell's Volcano Nachos
volcanonachos 130x120 8 fast food items that will ensure you die of a heart attackLegend has it that Taco Bell found the recipe for their Volcano Nachos from an ancient Aztec scroll written in virgin's blood. Not really, but eating a 900 calorie plate of these bad boys is basically sacrificing your health. Tortilla chips, ground beef, jalapenos, nacho cheese, sour cream and pre-historic volcanic lava sauce will leave your stomach burning and you cursing yourself for not listening to that voice in your head that begged you just to get a soft taco. But then again, this is probably the same little voice that advises against that third Jager shot and never gets laid.
